Excerpts
FLOW WITH THE CURRENT
"There is a proverb, 'Do not give up swimming just because there are waves and whirlpools in the sea. Despite the rolling gales, the fish never leave the sea.' If the fish escape to the shore, they are dead. If you wish to conquer the raging tempests of miseries that life deals you with, then swim with the Current but stay in the battle. Do not run away from the mainstream of life. Tide over life like the fish that braves the undercurrents of the seas. "

Sought Clarifies
Our daily life seems to be tormented by unnecessary conflicts and disappointments. How to overcome these ?

Do not hate anyone. Start loving everyone. Do not expect anything from any relationship. The worldly relationships are businesslike. 'If you care for me, I care for you.' That is the way of the world. That is why worldly love is not true. Start loving everyone without any reason or rhyme. Anyone on the street, anyone whom you come across, start loving, do not expect any return. Even if he cheats you, do not get upset about it.

Story with a moral
It is absolutely irrelevant whether you accept or love God. God must love and accept you; that is what really matters. You may be familiar with the story of Abu Ben Adam that you learnt at school. One night, an angel appears in his dream and she seems to be recording some information. When questioned, the angel clarifies that she is making an inventory of those who love God. Abu is disappointed to note that his name is not there in the list.

Commentary by Siddha Yogi Shri Siva Shankar Baba

Spirituality aims at making you experience karmas in a serene, composed way. A Mahaan can definitely ease the effect of your karmas. But he cannot nullify your miseries.

Krishna Paramaathma was always with the Pandavas, yet they were flooded with miseries. Towards the end of the Mahabharatha war, Bhishma laments to the Pandavas, 'How much karma you Pandavas have accumulated, that makes you suffer, despite Lord Krishna Himself being always with you!'.

Everyone who takes birth has to experience karmas to rise above the cycle of births. I don't have any karmas. So I am happy and free. You can also enjoy this. This is Mukthi. Mukthi is not an air-conditioned room in Heaven. It is the art of leading life in this world with no thoughts to hinder the path. This will happen, only after you undergo all karmas.

This is the concept that Siva Shankar Baba wants to imbibe in you. I am here with you. So I can help you repay the loan of your karmas and add to your virtue list. I have the authority to do so. I can even write off your karma debts. But it is not worth it. If I discount your karmas in this birth, you will have one more birth and the karmas too, to suffer. I may or may not be there then, you may or may not come to me! What is the guarantee? So now that I am here with you, I can help you bear your burden. If I do not, who will do this for you? By the carried over virtue of your previous births, you have come to a powerful Mahaan like me.

You too can become Divine

You should learn to love everyone like how a mother loves her child. Then you are either becoming divine or have already become divine.

Normally, what do you do?  You feel love only towards those favorable to you. You don't feel love towards others. When we see those whom we favor approaching us, our face becomes radiant and we exclaim, "Welcome, Welcome!". If a person whom we dislike is nearby, we turn our face away. The same face -- but displays two different reactions to two different people. It is that which has not made you divine yet. Learn to treat everyone alike. Good people, bad people, those who have done good for you, those who have caused you harm -- you should learn to treat everyone alike. If you can do that, then it means you have become divine. People will start worshipping you and you will have a temple in your name. But you have to develop this quality.

Without possessing this trait, you will not be able to place the next step in your spiritual journey, despite any number of mantras you chant, any amount of penance you do and any number of pilgrimages you make.

Shankaram Siva Shankaram
Dear Baba,

We had been to Berlin. We felt your presence and support as soon as we got down in Berlin. We travelled to Berlin by train, and after getting down at the main station, I realised the return tickets were missing in my jacket. I thought probably the ticket fell inside the train. We prayed to you hoping to find the ticket. Then we went to railway service point to inform about this. The person at the desk called up the next station and told us they could not trace the ticket. We prayed to you again to get back our tickets. Then when we went over to the next station and enquired there, they informed us that the tickets had been found and we shall get it in another half hour.

Baba even though we are far away in physical distance, you are with us every minute helping, guiding and supporting us. Thank you Baba.
